Chlorine Reports
How can I get more reporting forms?
There are multiple ways to get blank reporting forms.
The quickest way is to download a copy. You can do this by clicking on the link to your water system report in the Download Blank Reporting Forms section.
If you prefer we mail out copies of the form, please call us toll-free at (866) 357-8783 or send us an email at PUDCustomerService@thurstonpud.org. Normal business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Do I have to take the residual every day?
Yes, this is one of the most important parts of the program. The residual needs to be completed and tracked every day, between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. If you will be out of town or unable to take the residual, please call our office immediately so we can arrange for a field staff member to cover those days.
What do I do if I'm going to be out of town or on vacation?
If you will be out of town, please call our office immediately so we can arrange for a field staff member to cover those days.
What do I do if the chlorine residual is out-of-range?
If the chlorine residual is above or below the range listed on your chlorination report, please run your water for an additional five (5) minutes then re-test to see if the re-tested residual is within range. Often, when the water has been sitting in the line while you are at work or overnight, the residual will be out of range. Flushing the line for five (5) minutes often fixes this issue.
If the residual is still out-of-range, please report your results immediately. If the reading is still too low, we will need to send a technician out within four (4) hours.
Please call (866) 357-8783 to report. During normal business hours, our Customer Service Department will create a Service Request and inform our technicians. After normal business hours, on weekends, and on holidays, our after-hours answering service will take your information and contact our on-call technicians.
When do I have to turn in my chlorine report?
Chlorine reports must be received by our office no later than the 5th of every month. The preferred method to receive the Chlorine Reports is via email sent to our Customer Service Department at PUDCustomerService@thurstonpud.org. You can either scan your report or take a photo to attach to your email to us.
If you are mailing your report to us, please send it no later than the 2nd of the month to allow time for delivery. Our staff must process the reports and submit them to the Department of Health no later than the 10th of each and every month.
How do I clean my sample bottle?
It is very important to use the Kimwipes provided by Thurston PUD. They are lab-grade material that prevents the bottle from being scratched when cleaning. Using paper towels or other cloths to dry or clean the bottle can scratch it, leading to inaccurate results. If you need more Kimwipes, please contact us, and we will send some to you right away.
