This page provides detailed information about the Residential Chlorine Testing Program.

Currently, Thurston PUD owns and operates 68 water systems where chlorine is used as a disinfectant or part of other treatment processes. Our residential chlorine testers provide a valuable service by helping ensure that Thurston PUD follows Department of Health standards through daily testing, recording, and reporting out of range chlorine residuals. All residential chlorine testers receive a monthly credit to offset the additional water used to perform the test and for their time.
